Postdoc Karen Klebergs seneste publikation er blevet fremhævet i perspective-artikel

Postdoc Karen Klebergs seneste artikel:

K. Kleberg, AK Jacobsen, JG Ferreira, JA Windeløv, JF Reffelt, JJ Holst, I de Araujo, HS Hansen: Sensing of triacylglycerol in the gut: different mechanism for fatty acids and 2-monoacylglycerol. J Physiol 593(2015) 2097-2109

- er blevet fremhævet i en ”Perspective”-artikel specielt om artiklens vigtige resultater: (Wolfgang Langhans: A novel fat connection from gut to brain. J Physiol. 593 (2015) 1757-1758).

Her er hvad Dr. Wolfgang Langhans skriver om Karen Klebergs artikel:
“Kleberg and colleagues (2015) use a novel approach to address the role of intestinal fat sensing in the control of eating. Employing a clever experimental model in which mice are trained to self-administer lipid emulsions into the stomach, thus eliminating any possible interference of oral chemosensory factors, they examine the effects of the fat digestion products fatty acids and 2-monoacylglycerol on ingestion as well as on systemic endocrine and striatal dopaminergic responses.

The findings highlight the complexity of intestinal fat sensing, indicating that the fat digestion products fatty acids and 2-monoacylglycerol differ in their reward value and recruit different signaling pathways.

With the present findings Kleberg and colleagues make a substantial contribution to our knowledge about intestinal fat sensing, and they show the directions in which research in this scientifically interesting and physiologically and clinically relevant area should progress”.
